In December at KMOCA in Kingston, NY you can stop by their Annual Holiday Show and see this piece that I created for this show.  Now that the season had turned darker and colder we have to take in all of the light that we can.  Each morning seems to be so exciting in the Hedley house full of bathrobes, coffee, boxheads and Jack in whatever silliness he has woken up with.  I just wanted to pay homage and reflect on that magical morning time everyday.

At Roos Arts in Rosendale, NY through December 23rd the gallery put together this awesome show entitled Ornamental TOO, where they string various styles of christmas lights all through out the gallery and hang hand made ornaments from them.  This was my second year participating in this show and it just gets better every year.  Also two great things about this show is that the ornaments are priced reasonably from $2 to $40 and people were encouraged to make work from recycled materials.

This year at the Unison Gallery at Water Street Market we held the Fourth Annual Mini Works Show. Curated by Eileen Hedley and April Warren, the theme of this year’s exhibition is APPETITE.  Appetite can be interpreted in a variety of ways, including a natural desire to satisfy a bodily need or a stong desire or liking for something. Artists were challenged to create works in a 5″ x 5″ format that reflects upon or reinterprets this theme.  This is one of three of my interpretations of this years theme, each piece is a reflection of someone in my family and this is Kris and his amazing skills at making dumplings.
